William Stephen "Steve" Tucker, age 71, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024 at his residence in Somerset.
Steve was born September 19, 1952 to the late Charles Malcolm "Mac" and Joyce Dean (Corder) Tucker in Somerset, Kentucky. He married the love of his life, Marcia Tucker, on July 8, 1972, with whom he spent 51 years of his life with until his passing. Steve was a music major at Western Kentucky University and had a love for playing multiple musical instruments. Over the years, he played percussion instruments, from drums to vibraphone, in several bands, as well as at First Baptist Church of Somerset and Beacon Hill Baptist Church. He was well known in the community as the Owner/Operator of Mac's Village Pantry for over 50 years, where everyone loved his excellent cole slaw. In his later years, he loved to spend time with his grandchildren and was a very devoted grandfather, even becoming a #1 soccer fan for his grandchildren. In his free time, he also thoroughly enjoyed going out on his sailboat and enjoying the waters.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife, Marcia Tucker; grandchildren, Joshua Ryan Tucker, Eric Stephen Tucker, and Corey Tucker Parks; sister, Alice Tucker & (David) Burnett of Cookeville, TN; nieces and nephews, Faith Brant, Michael & (Krystan) Gallagher, Max Gallagher, Leah Burnett, Rachel Crouse, Gina Brumley, Chip Tucker, and Kelly Taylor; a sister-in-law, Maureen "Moe" & (Tim) Gallagher of Morrison, TN; two brothers-in-law, Michael & (Angela) Brown of Versailles, and James & (Franki) Brown of St. Louis, MO; a very special friend, Ron Oberman; and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Erica Dawn Tucker and Stephanie Nicole Tucker; two brothers, Charles Kelly Tucker and James Michael Tucker; and three nephews, Ryan Burnett, Ryan Tucker, and Joshua Daniel Brown.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. David Burnett officiating.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM on Wednesday until time for services at Pulaski Funeral Home.
Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to First Baptist Church of Somerset, Beacon Hill Baptist Church, and Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
