Wilene Hargis

Wilene "Granny" Hargis, 83, of Somerset, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.She was born in the Bobtown Community on November 8, 1933; daughter of the late Robert "Bob" and Beuna Rebecca Poynter Whitis. She is survived by her grandson, JD Hargis & (Jami Ashley) of Somerset; a brother, Edward James "EJ" and (Violet) Whitis of Science Hill; a sister-in-law, Fran Whitis of Somerset; three great-grandchildren, Cash David Hargis, Chase Ashley, and Chelsie Ashley; two brothers-in-law, Olen & (Marsha) Hargis of Louisville, and Everette Hargis of Illinois; two sisters-in-law, Goldie Hargis, and Ethel & (Peewee) McKenzie of Somerset. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Hargis; her son, David Lee Hargis; a brother, Donald Whitis; and three sisters, Christine Harper, Bobby Jean Messenger and Fayrene Strumberger.A funeral service will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home.Burial will be in Eden Cemetery.Visitation will be after 12 PM, Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Pulaski Funeral Home.Pulaski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
