Wilbur Gene Carter

Wilbur Gene Carter, 75, passed away Friday, June 9, 2017 at his residence.Gene was born in Poynter Creek, Kentucky on September 16, 1941; son of the late Cecil and Edna Catherine (Phelps) Carter. He retired from the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant having served 22 years, and would later retire from Toyota also. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Gene enjoyed cars, history, and playing Sudoku.He is survived by his sons, Coury Lee Carter & (Tonya Harris) of Science Hill, and Charles G. & (Cynthia) Carter of Somerset; his daughter, Cassandra Jean & (Robert) Lohnes of Linden, VA; his grandchildren, Dalton Andrew Lohnes, Ian Robert Lohnes, Courteney BriAnna Carter, Austin Tyler Lee Carter, Ryland Alan Carter, and Zachary Alexander Carter; a brother, Cecil James Carter; and a sister, Brenda Baker.He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Donna Jean Carter whom he wed on June 17, 1967, and who passed away on August 26, 2011.A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. John Bates officiating.Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery.Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard.Visitation will be after 6 PM Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Pulaski Funeral Home.Pulaski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
