Virginia Frances (Long) Rast, age 78 of Nancy, Kentucky passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 12 2023 at CHI Saint Joseph Health in Lexington, Kentucky with all of her family around her.

Virginia was born on September 12, 1945 in Reading, Pennsylvania to the late Alfred Zechariah and Mary Agnes (Geibel) Long. 

She was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church of Somerset, Kentucky. Virginia enjoyed playing cards, games, coloring and in her younger years ceramics. Most of all she enjoyed being with her family and friends and she sure loved her grandbabies.
Virginia was well known for her cooking and baking and she loved entertaining and telling jokes, she was the life of any party or gathering. She had a caring side of her that would give to Someone who was in need. She was very loved and will be missed by many. 

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Reinhold Rast , who she married on November 26, 1960, her three daughters; Donna Rast (partner Brenda Overbey) of London, Kentucky, Diane Reynolds of Ferguson, Kentucky, Erika (David) Davis of Eubank, Kentucky; one sister, Sandra Czartorynski of Waynesburg, Kentucky, a brother in law Herman ( Rosalie) Rast of Mason City, Iowa, a sister in law Rosemunde " Rose" Zboch of Fredonia, New York; Six grandchildren Troy Reynolds, Brynn Haskins, Jesse (Corinna Linde) Reynolds, Lance (Heather) Rast, Amber Sears, and Autumn Sears, eight great grandchildren; Hunter and Sadie Reynolds  Hailey and Emma Haskins, Bryley Mallaber, Bradly Reynolds, Valorie Rast, as well as Connor and Colson Sears, one great great grandson Anthony Dugger and a great great grandson that will be born in November of 2023. She also leaves five bonus grandchildren, Dewayne Davis, Sabrina Coulter, Jennifer Hriniak, and Jeremy and Heather Diaz, fourteen bonus great grandchildren; Ethan Goodin, Camron Overbey, Brooklyn Rader, Jayden Diaz, Austin McQueen, Kayla Coulter, Taryn Davis, Zachary (Katie) Davis, Malory Davis, Hayden Davis, Tiara Davis, Dustin Welch and Jillian Hriniak; two Bonus great great grandsons; Bentley and Corbin McGee as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends she loved dearly.

Along with her parents Virginia was preceded in death by five brothers; Robert, Howard and Alvin Willman, Alfred Jr. Long, Russell (Snooky) Long, three sisters; Shirley (Long) Pilat, Carolyn (Long) Miller and Gail Long and one great grandson Colton Mallaber, grandson in law Scott Haskins, along with son in law Bradly Reynolds and the late companion of Diane Reynolds Joseph Diaz.

A memorial service will be held Saturday October 21, 2023 from 3:00 to 5:00 at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky with Bro. Dustin York officiating
