Virginia Mae Baugh Floyd ("Gran"), 88 years old, of Eubank, Kentucky, joined her husband and her son in eternity on March 30, 2021 at the home of her daughter, Kathy Floyd Isaacs, in Louisville, Kentucky.
Her daughter Kathy, her long time, loving caregiver of four years, Lilia Seguerra, and son in law, John, were by her bedside. She was born in the Texas Community (Pulaski County), Kentucky on June 14, 1932 to Viola Baugh. Her mother passed away tragically when she was only two years old. She was raised by her grandparents, Willis and Minnie (Pierce) Baugh. At the age of fourteen, she had to drop out of school, due to her grandfather's death, and start working at the former Palm Beach Factory in Somerset. On February 25, 1950 she was married to Dean A. “Pud” Floyd, her childhood sweetheart. After living and working in Ohio for five years, she and Pud moved back to the Estesburg Community (Pulaski County) in Kentucky, where they remained dedicated dairy farmers until their retirement. Later in life, after marriage and three children, she went to night school at Eubank High and earned her GED because education was so important to her. She was an avid reader and loved history. Most of her life and until she was no longer able, she loved gardening, taking care of her grandchildren (and eventually enjoying her great grandchildren), and sitting on the front porch visiting family and friends. She enjoyed taking trips to town or to visit her grandchildren, but she was also very grateful to get back to the farm, her beloved home. She also kept a detailed daily diary until very recently.
Virginia was a loving, caring, nurturing, strong, independent, honest, trustworthy, and sometimes even mischievous woman with a beautiful smile and an unconditional love for her family. She was a walking calendar (never forgot anyone's birthday) with an impeccable memory (especially when it came to family events).
Virginia is survived by her daughters, Vickie Floyd Livesay of Eubank, Kentucky and Kathy Floyd (John) Isaacs of Louisville, Kentucky; her daughter-in-law Maribel Floyd of Eubank, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Melanie Livesay (Miles) Phelps of Lexington, Kentucky; Lou Ann Isaacs (Franz) Petzold of The Woodlands, Texas; John E. Isaacs, Jr. (Shelly) of Louisville, Kentucky; and Samuel J. Isaacs of Louisville, Kentucky; one step granddaughter, Lisa Isaacs (Brock) Lloyd of Louisville, Kentucky; four great grandchildren, Penielle Phelps of Lexington, Kentucky; Nikolas, Hannes and Liana Petzold of The Woodlands, Texas; three step granddaughters, Rebekah Lloyd (Ethan) Bauer, Michaela Lloyd, and Olivia Lloyd of Louisville, Kentucky; two grand dogs, Peanut and Annie Mae; as well as a host of cousins and precious friends. Virginia cherished every one of her loved ones dearly and worried about them daily.
Virginia is preceded in death by her wonderful husband of 64 years, Dean A. (Pud) Floyd; her adored son, Joe Tom Floyd (who passed away just five short weeks ago, and whom she missed horribly and grieved for daily); her mother; and her grandparents.
She was ready to see the Lord, who she spoke of daily, and we rejoice with her that she is now with HIM.
