Vaugnetta Major, age 88, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024.
She was born June 8, 1936 to James and Dorothy Azbill of Richmond. Vaugnetta was married to her husband, Glen Major, for 58 years. She retired from First and Farmers National Bank where she had worked as a bookkeeper. Active in her community, Vaugnetta was a member of the Somerset First United Methodist Church and a member of the Puaski County Democratic Woman's Club. She also enjoyed traveling, reading, and cheering for the Kentucky Wildcats.
Vaugnetta is survived by her children Glenna Major (David Weber) of St. Simons Island, GA and Mark Major (Becky Fisher) of Versailles; granddaughters Olivia Weber, Maison DeBorde (Jacob), and Molly Wyrick (Ethan); many great grandchildren; and her brother Ralph Azbill of Richmond. She will be dearly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen, her parents, sister Virginia Tate, and brother Norvelle Azbill.
A graveside service and burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Mill Springs National Cemetery.
