Tyler Edwin Jasper passed from this life and received his heavenly reward on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at the Cumberland County Hospital at the age of 94 years and 7 months. He was born October 1, 1924, the son of Dewey and Hattie Jasper of Mintonville, KY. He was married to Frieda Wall Jasper on February 15, 1947, She survives. Tyler was the proud father of three children: Marsha (and Ken) Wheeldon of Burkesville, Kentucky, Daryl (and Freda) Jasper of Mintonville, and Chris (and Mary) Jasper of Nancy, Kentucky. In addition, he had four grandchildren, Brian (and Angie) Wright of Lexington, Kentucky, Kristen (and Ben) Dizney of Bell Buckle, Tennessee, Hilary (and John) Baker of Corbin, Kentucky, and Jon-Tyler Jasper of Tampa, Florida. There are also three step-grandchildren, Kendra (and Danny) Watson of Marrowbone, Kentucky, Caitlyn (and Eric) Crowder of Somerset, Kentucky and Christopher Moore of Louisville, Kentucky. In addition, Mr. Jasper enjoyed seven great grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren. He also leaves behind loved nephews, Gary Taylor and Steve Taylor and many other friends, neighbors and relatives who mourn his passing.Tyler Jasper was preceded in death by his parents, and his sisters, Martha Thomas and Lelia Taylor Campbell.Tyler proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. After his service, he worked as a dairy farmer, an electrician, and a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. He also worked at Ford Manufacturing in Ohio for a short time. He worked hard for many years to build his farm and his cattle herd and he installed many dairy milking parlors in Southeastern Kentucky.Tyler was always known as Bill or Tyler Bill to his friends and neighbors. He had a deep loving commitment to his Lord and Savior and to his church, the Mintonville United Methodist Church. He endeavored to serve God by teaching Sunday School classes and serving as Board Chairman for many years, working with the Calaski Fellowship, and participating in annual conference and other groups and committees.He and Frieda have been active members of the Mintonville United Methodist Church throughout their 72 years of marriage, raising thier children in the church and instilling the example of service to the second and third generation. Tyler was also a 60 plus year member of the Mintonville Masonic Lodge # 491, carrying on a family tradition of service to the community throughthe work of the lodge, serving many years as secretary/treasurer.A funeral service for Mr. Tyler Edwin Jasper will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at the Mintonville Methodist Church with Rev. Darrell Vance officiating. Burial will follow in the Mintonville Cemetery.The family will receive friends at the Mintonville Methodist Church from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday until time for services. A Masonic service will be observed Tuesday Morning at the the Church and Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post # 38.In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Mintonville United Methodist Church or the Church Cemetery.Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Tyler Edwin Jasper at this time.
