Tennille Leigh Komulainen, daughter of Jeff and Liz Leigh, was born on August 18, 1980 in Somerset, Kentucky. She departed this life on June 16, 2022 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee after a very brief illness. Her friends and family were by her side when she drifted off to be with the Lord.
From an early age, she embodied all the characteristics of beauty, both inside and out. Her big smile lit up every room she entered. She had the uncanny ability to make everyone she encountered feel like the most important person to her. Tennille exceled in both athletics and academics, graduating with honors from Somerset High School. She later pursued her two passions, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater from Western Kentucky University and a Masters of Theology from Liberty University.
She met her husband Daryl in 2006 on a fated flight through Las Vegas. They bonded over a common love for A Christmas Story and the infamous leg lamp! They married in September of that year, and after several adventures with the Air Force in Tucson and Korea, finally settled down to have a family in Mississippi. Their daughter Campbell “Cami” Grace was born in May of 2012 and their son Kai Wyatt was born in April of 2015. She loved them with her entire being. It brought her joy beyond measure to spend her days with them while teaching at Columbus Christian Academy.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Homer and Clara Campbell and Carlos and Mildred Leigh. Tennille is survived by her husband, Daryl and their two children, Cami and Kai; her parents Jeff and Liz Leigh; brother Justin (Sarah) Leigh; beloved nephews, Blake, Hudson and Brooks; sister Sunshine (Gareth) Bates; nieces Cora and Airlia; in-laws Wes and Jerri Komulainen; sister-in-law Leslie Komulainen; nephew Jake Komulainen and niece Zoe Komulainen.
