Ruth Ann Thompson

Ruth Ann Cowan Thompson, age 81, passed away Sunday, November 20th, 2022. She was born in the Pisgah community on October 10th, 1941, to Charlie and Alma (Wilson) Cowan.
 
She is survived by her brother Kenneth (Janie) Cowan, and her sister-in-law Judy Cowan, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, family, and dear friends.
 
She is preceded in death by her husband, Cressel Thompson, as well her parents Charlie and Alma Cowan, two brothers, Charles Jr. and James Cowan, her nephews Terry Cowan and Chuck Cowan, and many dear brothers in law and sisters in law.
 
She was a 1959 graduate of Somerset High School. She worked for years as a bank teller at Mutual Federal, was an avid artist and member of Lake Cumberland Decorative Artists and loved to travel the world and tell her stories to everyone. She was a lifelong member of West Somerset Baptist Church where she attended the Mary Martha Sunday School class and taught a multitude of children in Sunday School over the years. She was a self-proclaimed amateur photographer and loved to take her nieces and nephews on adventures.
 
The visitation will Friday, November 25th, at West Somerset Baptist Church beginning at 11:00 am. The Funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm with Bro. Larry Butte, Dr. James Floyd, and Bro. Bruce Blevins officiating.
 
Burial will follow in West Somerset Baptist Church Cemetery.
