On Friday, October 8, 2021, Ronald Jerry Taylor, loving father and husband passed away at the age of 76. Ron was born in Dayton OH on June 10, 1945 to Hazel A. Stevens Taylor and Jesse S. Taylor. He graduated from Trotwood Madison High School in 1963, and he joined the U.S. Navy. He was the father of two children, Dawn M. Taylor Sweeney and Jesse A. Taylor. In 2000, he married the love of his life, Barbara Hall Taylor, and they shared a very happy life together.
Ron had many passions in life. From an early age he enjoyed baseball and football, sports which he played in school. He loved the Cincinnati Reds, and for many years he and Barbara traveled to watch their spring training. Ron was a talented carpenter; he and his father created a business restoring homes. Ron later built a log cabin home in Somerset, KY, where he lived until his death. He spent many years working in the automobile industry as a salesman and a manager. He was most happy at home– tending to the farm, working in his workshop, cooking, watching baseball games, and spending his days with his beloved wife.
Ron is preceded in death by his father Jesse and mother Hazel. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, two children Dawn (John) and Jesse, grandson Joshua, his brother Larry (Betty), his sister Brenda (Gary), niece Mandy (David), nephew Dane (Rachel), and 4 great-nieces. He is also survived by Barbara’s sons, Rodney (Elaine) and Doug (Marna), their families, as well as several cousins, uncles, and many friends.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Pulaski Funeral Home, located at 165 KY-2227, Somerset, KY 42503 at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends, beginning at noon, and the burial will take place at Burnett Chapel, 354 State Hwy 934, Somerset, KY 42503 following the ceremony.
Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post # 38, Pulaski Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
