Roland Dale New

Mr. Roland Dale New, son of the late Herbert Logan and Elizabeth Marie Nicholas New, was born in Pulaski County, KY on May 27, 1941 and he departed this life on August 24, 2024 having attained the age of 83 years. On April 20, 1968 he was united in marriage to Sally New. She survives.
Other survivors include; two children, Gregory Thomas New and his wife Dawn of Barnhart, Missouri, and Renee Hammitt and her husband, Jeff of Richmond, KY; five grandchildren, Celeste New, Madison New, Vivian New, Gretchen Hammitt and Grayson Hammitt; one brother, Clarence New of Louisville, KY and one sister, Jean Rollins of Somerset, KY.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by; two brothers, Larry New and Herbert "Junior" New.
Roland was a real estate developer for many years before he retired. He was a Navy veteran having served during the Cuban Missile Crisis of the early 1960's. He was an avid Rook player, and he and his wife had a long standing tradition whereupon every Veterans Day they honored local veterans with some type of gathering. They provided this wonderful service until the Covid Pandemic. He also loved searching and shopping for antiques that he could place in the Horseshoe Barn Museum located on his farm. He enjoyed being around his family and friends. He was a kind person who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A funeral service for Mr. Roland Dale New will be held at the Pulaski Funeral Home at 12:00 p.m. Friday August 30, 2024 with Rev. Doug Couch officiating. Burial will follow in the Mill Springs National Cemetery with military honors conducted by the American Legion Post #38.
The family of Mr. Roland Dale New will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, August 29th, 2024.
