Roger Dykes, 65, of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at his residence.
He was born in Pulaski Co. on January 25, 1957; son of the late Commodore and Juanita Adams Dykes. He loved his church and was a deacon at Sinking Valley Baptist Church. He was a true family man, who loved spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed farming, watching wildlife, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years whom each shared a true love for each other, Linda Cromer Dykes whom he married on May 17, 1974; daughters, Melinda Dykes, and Jennifer & (James) Eaton; sons, Roy & (Latasha) Dykes, and Brandon Dykes & (girlfriend, Kim); grandchildren, Austin, Logen, Victoria, Jenna, Jackson, and Jacob; sisters, Trudell & (Bobby) Burdine of Somerset, Patricia & (Roger) Bullock of Mt. Vernon, Sue & (James) Lawson of Somerset, Ray & (Brenda) Dykes of London, James & (Vickie) Dykes of Somerset, Kay & (Jerry) Bullock of Livingston, Nadean & (Tommy) Chaney of Somerset, Jay & (Winona) Dykes of Mt. Vernon, Benny Dykes of Somerset, and Susie White of London; his father-in-law, Keith Cromer; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and several brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Commodore and Juanita Adams Dykes; sisters, Daisy Arthur, Wilma Dykes; a brother, Sammie Dykes, and a brother who died in infancy.
A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Thursday, October 20, 2022 at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Jason Ivey officiating.
Burial will be in the Dykes Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends after 11 AM Thursday, October 20, 2022 at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home.
