Rev. Thomas F. “Tommy” Adams, retired United Methodist minister, died on June 18, 2022 at the age of 82.
Tommy was born on October 18, 1939 in Somerset, Kentucky. He was a graduate of Somerset High School and Union College, and he received his Master of Divinity from Louisville Presbyterian Seminary. In his ministerial career, he served as Pastor to United Methodist churches in Simpsonville and Eminence, Kentucky, was Campus Director of the Methodist Children’s Home of Kentucky in Versailles, and a Pastor at the First United Methodist Church in Somerset during which time he was instrumental in establishing the Pulaski Emergency Relief Ministry. He was also an owner/operator of Buck Creek Marina on Lake Cumberland and Wolf River Marina on Dale Hollow Lake, and he was later Executive Director of Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
He was preceded in death by his parents James E. and Anna H. Adams and brothers Jimmy and Billy Frank.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Glenda, his three sons and their wives, Jeff (Joy), Jon (Paige), Jimmy (Sally), grandchildren Tyler, Austin, Emma, Ellie, and Finley, brother Eddie, and multiple in-laws, cousins, nieces and a nephew.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22 at the First United Methodist Church in Somerset with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pulaski Emergency Relief Ministry, Inc. or the Kentucky United Methodist Children’s Homes.
