Patricia "Patsy" Cross Barlow of Somerset, Kentucky passed away Sunday, November 17, 2024 at Somerset Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Patricia was born on April 10, 1933 in the Elihu Community of Pulaski County, Kentucky to John and Luretha (Wynn) Cross.
She was a member of the Somerset High School Graduating class of 1951 and went on to attend the University of Kentucky from which she graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Commerce in 1955. She was married to Claude "Bugs" Barlow in Lexington, Kentucky on October 1, 1955 and they would spend the next 57 years together.
Patty was employed by Dean Carpenter at The University of Kentucky and was also a military wife, who, while her husband was away, was also a homemaker and raised their three children. She and the family lived several places including Germany and Fort Knox, Kentucky before returning to Somerset to retire. She maintained lasting, life - long friendships and managed to stay in touch with her friends no matter where she happened to be in the world.
Patricia was a member of The First Baptist Church of Somerset and enjoyed working crossword puzzles, coloring and traveling. She always put herself last, and, was funny, and had a talent for making others laugh. That's exactly how she wanted to be remembered... as someone who loved laughter.
Patricia is survived by her three children; Kathy Barlow, Bruce (Danielle) Barlow and Wendy Barlow, her grand children; Jason (Jodi) Sankovitch, Joshua Sankovitch, Khristen Lewis, Matthew (Megan) Wessel, step grandchild, Jake (Nicole) Barlow, three great grandchildren; Jayden Saige Barlow, Benjamin Thomas Sankovitch and Taylor Kathleen Wessel as well as a special uncle, James Lincoln Wynn.
She was preceded in death by her husband Claude "Bugs" Barlow and her parents; John Freeman Cross and Luretha Wynn Cross.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, November 21, 2024 in the Chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home at 1:00 PM with her friend, David Pendley Officiating
The family will receive friends on November 21, 2024 from 11:00 Am till time for services at Pulaski Funeral Home.
Patricia will be laid to rest alongside her husband in Somerset Cemetery.
The family would like to extend their most heart -felt thanks to the staff of Somerset Nursing and Rehabilitation for all of the wonderful care and kindness that was given to Patricia during her stay, it was much appreciated.
