Ogle Baker, 94, of Burnside, KY, went home to be with the Lord on July 30, 2019. Ogle was born on February 21, 1925 in Harlan, KY to Cleadie Mills and Peter Raymond Baker. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lola, parents, sister and brother, as well as a daughter-in-law.
Ogle served in the United States Army in 1943-1945 where he was assigned to the 10th Armored Division and was trained as a medium tank crewman. He was in Battery A, Harbor Defenses of San Diego, CA and received a good conduct medal.
Ogle married his sweetheart, Lola Burnett on March 17, 1947 and were married for 69 years. Together they had six children. Ogle was a hard-working family man. He loved to garden and was skilled at wood working. Ogle was also a great cook who loved to share his table with family. Many will recall his love for life and sense of humor.
Ogle is survived by his sister Loretta as well as four sons and two daughters-in-law; Freddie and Sandy Baker, Bige Baker, Jackie Baker, Jimmy and Sandy Baker. Two daughters and two sons-in-law; Janetta and Kevin Bill, Glenna and Scott Schilthelm. Also blessed and survived by 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. He led a full and happy life and will be greatly missed. May we never forget your smile.
The family of Ogle Baker will receive friends and relatives at Pulaski Funeral Home after 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 1, 2019 with funeral service to begin at 11:00 AM.
Burial will follow in the Mill Springs National Cemetery.
