Lyle D. Hampton, age 97, passed away on August 31st, 2018 at Somerset Nursing & Rehabilitation Facility after a short illness. She was born on March 5, 1921 at Blackey, Kentucky.She was preceded in death by her husband; Ova Hampton, an infant son; Claude Bernard, her parents; Bryant and Allie Dixon, two sisters; Pauline Shepherd, and Mary L. Back, two brothers; Wayne Dixon and Herman Dixon.Survivors include one son; Don (Delphia) Hampton of Somerset, Ky., a grandson; Tim Hampton of Louisville, Ky.,three sisters; Lucille Morgan of Science Hill, Ky., Martha Jane Burns of Blackey, Ky. and Oma Jo Campbell of Indianapolis, In. and numerous nieces and nephews.Lyle was a 58-year member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Somerset, Ky. Her love for God and gracious savior, her church and church family was the rock that provided solace to her, especially the last few years of her life. During the last several months she was unable to attend church due to health issues and it weighed heavily on her.She never met a stranger and would talk continually how nice everyone she came in contact with, was to her.Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at the Chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Don Jones and Bro. Ron Shepherd officiating.
