Mr. Gerald Thomas Ping, son of the late Raymond Ottis and Ruth Kay Hughes Ping, was born Sunday, March 10th, 1935 and he departed this life on Friday, July 10, 2020 having attained the age of 85 years and 4 months. He was united in marriage to Mrs. Virginia Mercedes Wolfgram Ping, she survives. Other survivors include; one son, Gerald Thomas Ping, Jr. and his wife Pam of Port Charlotte, Florida; one daughter, Lana Duda and her husband Paul of Ozark, Missouri; one brother, Raymond Ping and his wife Lynn of Dayton, Ohio; two sisters, Gatha Mounce and her husband James of Somerset, Kentucky and Carol Faye Skiver of Indianapolis, Indiana; three grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Other than his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother; Minot Ping who died in infancy, and two sisters, Barbara Allen and Helen Placke. Gerald was a member of the Acorn Church of God. He was also a retired Navy Veteran having served from 1952 until 1972. He was a kind and fun loving person who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 16th, 2020 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Paul and Lana Duda officiating. Burial will follow in the Mill Springs National Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post # 38. The family of Mr. Gerald Thomas Ping will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 11:00 am. Thursday until time for services. The visiting public will be obligated to dawn face masks or other facial covering while on premises of the funeral for per the Governor's mandate.
