Mr. Quinton Douglas Whitaker, age 40, of Somerset, Kentucky went to be with Jesus November 12, 2017.Doug was a loving husband, father, son, son-in-law, brother, brother-in-law and family man. He was a man of God who touched the lives of many people with his life. He was an Attorney, Police Chaplain, and Air Force Veteran and served many years in the ministry as pastor and missionary. He always put others in front of himself. His heart for people was a shining light in his life. Doug loved his family deeply and the bond between each one was special. He married his high school sweetheart whom he adored and cherished. His three children were his pride and joy.Doug leaves behind his wife Sara Whitaker; two daughters, Bailey and Kylie; one son, Grayson Whitaker; his father and mother, Jerome and Judy Whitaker; one brother, Brian & (Stephanie) Whitaker; in-laws, Eugene & Janie Loveless; sisters-in-law, Jennifer (and Joey) Wilkerson, Emily Flynn and Tennaye; nieces, Hannah Whitaker, Emily Klingensmith, and Blair Wilkerson; great niece, Lakynn; and grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins that were special to him. Doug was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Glenice Harness, and maternal grandfather, Carol Vaught; and a grandma-in-law, Betty Eldridge.A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Grace Baptist Church with Bro. Bill Haynes officiating with honors performed by the Somerset City Police Honor Guard.Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery.Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Grace Baptist Church.
