Mildred Sue Mayfield

January 14, 1939 — September 7, 2024

Mildred Sue Prather Mayfield, age 85, of Somerset, KY, formerly of Lafayette, IN, passed into the embrace of her Lord, surrounded by her family on Saturday, September 7, 2024.

She is survived by her loving brothers, James Michael (Jan) Prather and Perry Martin (Shirley) Prather; Niece, Fonda (Reed) Crawford; Nephews, Dr. David (Robin) Wilson, and Barry (Gina) Wilson, who were like her children and brother-in-law Curtis (Fayrene) Mayfield. She is loving remembered by Nephews, Christopher (Brandy) Prather, Adam (Jasmine) Prather; Nieces, Teresa (Joe) Powlis, Kim (Dan) Mickey and several great nieces/nephews.

The memory of her kindness, loving ways, and her humorous personality will be forever cherished by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl C. Mayfield, whom she married in Somerset, Ky on August 12, 1961; her parents Herman and Beatrice Prather; her sister Elizabeth (Jim) Wilson, and her father and mother-in-law Lonnie & Roxie Mayfield.

The family will receive friends at Pulaski Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. Her Celebration of Life will be at 1:00 PM in the Chapel with Pastor Bill Dawson and Dr. David Wilson will be officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Reed Crawford, James Reed Crawford, David Wilson, Barry Wilson, Andrew Wilson, Christopher Prather, and Adam Prather.

The family sends a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, Cumberland Nursing and Rehabilitation, and Hospice of Lake Cumberland for their excellent comfort and care.
