Michael Coomer

Michael Dwayne Coomer, 61, of Somerset, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center.

He was born in Indianapolis, IN on September 12, 1963; son of the late Joe Freddie and Geraldine (Wilson) Coomer. He retired as a Jail Inspector for the Kentucky Department of Corrections, but throughout the years he held numerous positions for the State of Kentucky. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He loved NASCAR, was an avid fan of UK Basketball and Football, enjoyed playing poker, fishing, and listening to music. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his friends.

He is survived by his brother Doug & (Carla) Coomer; three sisters, Jonna & (Chris) Stayton, Vicki & (Charles) Schoolcraft, and Lisa & (Jeff) Bryant; an uncle, Doyle & (Judy) Wilson; special friends, Wayne Kammerer and Michelle Stringer whom he loved very much; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Joe Freddie and Geraldine (Wilson) Coomer; and a special friend, Larry Burton.

A celebration of life service will be held at 5 PM Monday, February 24, 2025 at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Brice Burton officiating.

The family will receive friends after 3 PM Monday, until time for services.

Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
