Melda Meece Jones

Melda Meece Jones daughter of the late Lincoln and Anna Cole Meece, was born in Pulaski County, KY on Friday, March 19, 1948 and she departed this life on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 in Russell Springs, KY having attained the age of 73 years.

She was united in marriage to Mr. Dannie Jones, he survives. Other survivors include her daughter, Sheila Martin of Mt. Vernon, KY; three step-sons, Bruce Jones and Jason Jones of Somerset, KY and Stuart Jones of Louisville, KY; one brother, Lincoln Meece, Jr also known as Buddy of Somerset, KY; two sisters, Kathy Akin and Sharon Stogsdill both of Somerset, KY and a host of other relatives and friends.

Other than her parents, she was also preceded in death by; one son Ralph Meece; a half brother, George Weatherford; and one sister, Brenda Smith.

Melda enjoyed listening to music and she also loved fishing. She was a member of the Piney Grove Baptist Church in her early life and adhered to the Baptist faith. She was a kind and loving person who will be deeply missed by all who knew her and she leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn her passing.

A funeral service will be held for Melda Meece Jones at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 31st at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Don Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Keeney Cemetery. The family of Melda Meece will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 12:00 noon Monday until time for service.
