Melaine Deel Lockwood Bradley of Lexington, Kentucky passed from this life on May 10, 2022 at the home of her mother in Somerset, Kentucky surrounded by loving family. She was born in Somerset on August 29, 1969; daughter of Myrna McWilliams Deel and the late Grayson L. Deel.

She attended elementary schools in Pulaski Co. and was a a graduate of Pulaski Co. High School. Following high school, she attended Morehead State University, then graduated from Eastern Kentucky University on Scholarship with a degree in Business Marketing. She then moved to Atlanta, Georgia where she worked in the realty division of General Services Administration for 17 years. During her time at GSA she received a Master's degree in Organizational Management. After leaving GSA she worked in various areas of mental health care. While living in Georgia she became the mother of two boys, Grant and Kyle Lockwood, whom she so dearly loved.

After earning a second Master's degree in Psychology from Argosy, Melanie began working as a therapist and crisis counselor at hospitals in Georgia, including, Willowbrooke, Peachford, and Wellstar where she formed many dear and lasting friendships. She began working as a care manager for insurance companies, Anthem Blue Cross, and United Healthcare while building a private therapy practice. In 2021 she moved back to the state of Kentucky to the city of Lexington with her husband, Seth.

Melanie trusted Jesus as her savior when she was thirteen years old and was baptized one day before her fourteenth birthday. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Hiram, GA; where she sang in the choir.

She enjoyed various types of music, traveling across the U.S., exploring new places, trying exotic foods, hiking, the outdoors, activities with her boys, learning various crafts, loved her animals, and spending time with her family and friends. She was adventurous, fearless, and strove everyday to improve the lives of others.

In December 2019, Melanie was united in marriage to Seth Bradley, and he survives. She is also survived by her mother, Myrna McWilliams Deel of Somerset; two sons, Grant Lockwood of Somerset, and Kyle Lockwood of Dallas, GA; a grandson whom she adored, Oliver Lockwood of Somerset; her paternal grandmother, Flornie Deel of Somerset; several cousins; and a host of very special friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Grayson Deel, who passed away on March 17, 2022; her aunt Eloise Deel; her paternal grandfather, Christopher Deel; and her maternal grandparents, Clyde and Ruby McWilliams.

Melanie had a sweet, loving, caring, soul and spirit. Like her late father, she was so loved and will be so missed by her family and close friends.

Her family would like to thank Hospice of Lake Cumberland for their compassionate care. 

A funeral service will be held at at 10 AM Friday, May 13, 2022 at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Bradley officiating.

Burial will be in Liberty Baptist Cemetery, Highway 328, located in Northern Pulaski Co.

The family will receive friends after 5 PM Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Pulaski Funeral Home.
