Mary Susan Diamond Down

Mary Susan Diamond Down, 69, of Somerset, KY passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018 at her residence. She was born in the Campground Community on August 24, 1948 to the late Astor and Valentine Morgan Diamond. She is survived by Gerald "Jerry" Down, her husband of 26 years and the following children; Beth (and Brett) McQueary of Somerset, Kentucky , Amy (and Kevin) Kiper of Lexington, Kentucky and Stephen Godby of Somerset, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Audrey Halcomb, Grant Halcomb and Emily Godby all of Somerset, Kentucky. Other survivors include; two brothers, Virgil and Larry Diamond; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Diamond and Toni Phillips and a host of nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Glen Diamond; a sister-in-law, Janet Diamond and a nephew, Virgil Diamond III.Mrs, Down was a member of the Grace Baptist Church and retired from Lake Cumberland Area Development District as a WIA Career Manager that offered career counseling, job search and re-training. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, cooking, growing orchids and attending various mountain horse and miniature horse shows. She was also an avid supporter and fan of the Pulaski County Maroon Football team where she could be found watching them every Friday night.A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday March 18, 2018 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow in the Double Springs Cemetery. The family of Mrs. Mary Susan Diamond Down will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018.Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mrs. Mary Susan Diamond Down at this time.
