Mary Ann Flynn, 70, died Friday, January 3, 2025. Born September 29, 1954 she was the daughter of the late William Maxwell (Max) and Elizabeth Ann Pierce Flynn.

She graduated from Somerset High School in 1972, and was the owner of two successful businesses, The Shoe Box and Sun Splash. Aside from her business ventures, she thoroughly loved being a homemaker and full-time mother. For the last 16 years, she was the lead advertising consultant for The Commonwealth Journal. She was also a proud member of the Pulaski County Democratic Women’s Club. In her spare time, her life revolved around her family and friends. Traveling to the beach, enjoying good food, spending time with loved ones, and being a grandmother were all amongst the greatest joys of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandparents, John T. and Mary C. Wilson as well as her paternal grandparents, Grover and Lydia Chambers Flynn.

She is survived by her sister Jan Flynn, daughters Stephanie (Jason) Ritter and Sarah (Jared) Woods, grandchildren Kelli, Kendahl and Logan Hawk, and Noah, Lucy, Grace, Bennett and Reece Woods, and great-grandchildren Haven and Aspen Marshall and William Farmer. It is important to note that she was preceded in death and survived by many dear friends whom are considered family.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 with the funeral service immediately following at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Somerset with Robert F. Browning officiating.

Burial at Somerset City Cemetery will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Pulaski County EMS, or to First Baptist Church, Somerset.
