Margaret Littrell

Margaret Tucker Littrell, daughter of the late Edward "Strawberry" Tucker and Marie Muse Tucker, was born in Somerset, KY on May 10, 1949 and departed this life on January 18, 2019 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She is survived by her husband Jeffrey Lee Littrell, with whom she was united in marriage on May 31, 1968. She is also survived by her daughter, Danni Littrell Neal and Darren Neal, daughter Breanna Thurman, brother Eddie and Trudy Tucker, brother-in-law Steve and Rita Littrell, nephew Jason Heath, and special friend Brenda Edrington. Margaret was born & raised in Somerset, KY. She was a graduate of Ferguson High School and later attended Somerset Community College, where she obtained her degree as a Registered Nurse. Margaret worked various jobs throughout her nursing career. She was a nurse in the ICU and was a flight nurse at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. She later became a nurse for Hospice of Lake Cumberland, and eventually retired as the Director of Nursing at Danville Center for Health and Rehabilitation in 2010. Margaret was a dedicated mother, first and foremost, wife and sister. She treasured her family and embraced every moment with them. Her daughter, Danni, was her world, and she especially loved her role as "Nana" to Breanna. She had a vivacious personality and always put others' needs before her own. She made friends everywhere she went and was loved by all. She was a passionate fan and supporter of Somerset High School's track, cross country and golf teams, which were coached by her husband, Jeff Littrell. She traveled with the teams and was a "mother" to all of the athletes throughout Jeff's career as a coach. Margaret was preceeded in death by her parents Edward N. Tucker and Marie M. Tucker, father and mother-in-law Jeffrey J. Littrell and Margaret Burge Littrell, cousin Patti Muse Adams, and aunt and uncle Pauline and Everett Dick. All of her family and friends are invited to First Baptist Church Somerset on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 1:00 pm with a Celebration of Life Ceremony beginning at 2:00pm. 128 N. Main St., Somerset, KY 42501. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First Baptist Church Project 58:10, a local ministry dedicated to meeting the nutrition needs of children that receive reduced or free lunch in the local schools.
