Lois Irene (Hull) Sears passed peacefully on January 8, 2022 at Cumberland Nursing and Rehab in Somerset, Kentucky. She had recently celebrated her 94th birthday. Mrs. Sears was born in Fentress County, Tennessee on December 15, 1927 to Elmer and Myrtle (Tompkins) Hull, the fifth of eight children. After moving to Ohio, she met Willie D. “Bill” Sears, whom she married on July 2, 1948 in Rossville, Georgia. They were blessed with three children, and moved from Dayton, Ohio to Poplarville, near Somerset. They celebrated 60 years of marriage before his death in 2008 and together adored their eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband Bill, her son Jim Sears, her parents, and six siblings: Gladys Ellis, Ralph Hull, Hilma Schwartzentruber, Doris Grimes, Wallace Hull, and Ernest Hull.
She will be deeply missed by her family. Immediate survivors include: one brother, Leland Hull, and a sister-in-law, Reba Hull; her daughters, Rebecca (Bob) Eldridge of Riverside, Ohio and Cindy (Jeff) Price of Somerset, Kentucky; a daughter-in-law, Sherry Sears of Cynthiana, Kentucky; grandchildren: Scott Eldridge, Aaron Eldridge, Mark (Jennifer) Sears, Logan (Sara) Sears, Travis Sears, Kristina Sears (Kevin Leedy), Jacob (Sarah Katherine) Price; and Sarah Rachel Price.
A funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Pulaski Funeral Home in Somerset, with a time of visitation beginning at 11am before the service begins at 1pm. The family requests that masks be worn during both the visitation and funeral service for the protection of each visitor. The service will be led by Mr. Logan Hargis.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Cumberland Nursing and Rehab for the love and care they provided to Mrs. Sears while she was a resident. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Gideon’s Memorial Bible Fund in Mrs. Sears’ name.
Mrs. Sears will be buried next to her husband at the Poplarville Cemetery in Pulaski County.
