Lloyd Stykes, age 86 of Somerset, Kentucky passed from this life Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Lloyd was born May 7, 1934 in Somerset, to Henry and Lou Stone Stykes. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Robert, Herbert, Glenn, Howard, and Edward; as well as his sisters Ethel Debord, Adeline, Stella, and Elsie Stykes. Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Mary Moore Stykes and his three children Robin (Scott) Farmer, Steven (Cindy) Stykes, and Sharon (Mark) Latham all of Somerset. His grandchildren, Chad (Samantha) Stykes, Whitney (Ben) Gonzales, Craig (Kim) Stykes, Andrea (Travis) Thompson, Jordan Latham, and Matthew (Tiara) Latham. Great-grandchildren Landon, Levi, Logan, Ezra, Emerie, Drake, Daniel, Ayla, Adley, Hannah, Sammie Jo and Taylor, He is also survived by his sister Faye Gleason of Somerset; and many extended nieces, nephews, and loving friends. Lloyd was of the Baptist faith and attended Eagle Heights Church where he worshipped until his health prevented his attendance. He was a proud United States Army veteran. He retired from G.E. Somerset Glass Plant, and enjoyed fishing, camping, and playing cards; but his greatest joy of all was spending time with his family. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 17th at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. David Norfleet officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens. The family of Mr. Lloyd Stykes will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 12:00 noon Friday until after services. In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the charity of one’s choice. Pulaski Funeral Home in in charge of all arrangements.
