Laura New

Laura R. New, 76, of Somerset passed away Friday, August 29, 2020 at the Jean Waddle Care Center.

She was born in Somerset on June 6, 1944; daughter of the late Josephine Madden. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed working puzzles, watching the news and TV, and loved looking at Christmas lights during Christmas time.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Anna Wilson, Laura Haste, Brittany Wilson, Tonya Crain, Keisha Crain, and Tim Sizemore; a brother, Robert Stevenson; great-grandchildren, Renae Meece, Barbara Suttles, Neveah Suttles, Matthew Haste, and David Haste; two half sisters, Bonnie Stevenson, and Sally Stevenson; and Robin Bingham who was like a granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil New; a daughter, Julie Ann Suttles; her mother; a brother, Burke Madden; two sisters, Barbara Lukens, and Rosie Compton; and a special friend, John "Red" Williamson.

A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Bronston Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 12 PM Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at Pulaski Funeral Home.
