John Gallagher, Sr., 75, of Somerset, KY, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2024, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was born on July 6, 1949, in Ferguson, KY to Homer Edward and Maggie Gallagher. On August 1, 1973, John married Deborah Bush, his devoted wife of 51 years. John was employed as a maintenance worker at McDonald’s South, was a member of the Burnside Masonic Lodge 634, Somerset Masonic Lodge 111, and Ferguson United Methodist Church. John enjoyed spending his time with his family and mowing his lawn.
He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah; his children, Sam Gallagher and Ann (Jamie) Corder; his grandchildren, Kayla (Tyler) Burke, Jace Corder, Jake Corder, and Jaxon Gallagher; and his great-grandchildren, Laney, Brayden, and Bennett Burke. He is also survived by his sisters, Frances (Virgil) Godbey and Edwena Dyer, as well as a host of nieces and nephews, including Olivia, Alex, Jeremiah, and Annabelle Bush, all of whom he cherished deeply.
John was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Mary Ann Hyden, Betty Gallagher, and Margaret King; his son, John Gallagher, Jr.; and his great-grandson, Bentley Burke.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday September 7th at the chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Michael Gallagher and Bro. Gary Clark officiating.
The family of Mr. John Gallagher will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 6th, 2024
A masonic service will be observed at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Pulaski Funeral Home.
It was John's request that in lieu of flowers one should go out and buy a child a happy meal.
