Jimmy Ramsey, age 78 of Science Hill, Kentucky passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, December 1, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on December 29, 1945, in Burnside, Kentucky to Margaret Ramsey and James Dugger. Jimmy was the loving husband of Shelia Cox Ramsey for 33 years. He was a graduate of Burnside High School where he played baseball and basketball. He retired in 2002 from General Electric of Somerset, Kentucky after 37 years of service. He was a member of Somerset First Church of the Nazarene. He was a Science Hill City Commissioner for 6 years.
Jimmy loved working with his hands and spending time in his woodshop, he also cherished the time he spent with his family and friends; especially his grandchildren that he loved very much. He was an avid Kentucky basketball fan.
He is survived by his loving wife Shelia, his two daughters Melody (and Scott) Price of Somerset, Kentucky and Amanda (and Roy) Bray of Somerset, Kentucky. Three grandsons; Jarred (and Mistie) Price of Somerset, Kentucky, Austin (and Camryn) Bray of Somerset, Kentucky, Parker Bray of Somerset, Kentucky, and one granddaughter Bailey Grace Bray and great granddaughter Tori Robertson. Mother-in-law, Thalia Cox of Somerset, Kentucky. Three sisters-in-law Glenda (and Jimmy) Eastham of Somerset, Kentucky, Vicky (and David) of Somerset, Kentucky. Brenda (and Bob) Farr of Fort Myers, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Beverly Farris Ramsey, two brothers, four sisters, one sister-in-law, and one brother-in-law.
In the Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the building fund for the Somerset First Church of the Nazarene.
A funeral service for Jimmy Ramsey will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Ben Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
The family of Jimmy Ramsey will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, December 5th and from 11:00 a.m. Friday until time for services.
Pulaski Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
