Jewell Dean Tomlison

Jewell Dean Tomlison of Maryville, Tennessee, formerly of Somerset, died February 13, 2021, at The Waters of Clinton, Clinton, TN. Born January 25, 1940, at Ruth, Kentucky, he was 81. His parents were the late Virgil Franklin and Okra Meece Tomlison. He was a member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church, Maryville, and a former member of Clay Hill Baptist Church, where he was ordained as a deacon. He was a graduate of Pulaski County High School, Somerset Area Vocational School, and the University of Cincinnati with a degree in metallurgy. He was a tool and die maker by trade. His survivors include his wife of 58 years, Sylvia Lane Hughes Tomlison; daughter, Kelly Renee Ponder & (Dr. Robert David Ponder) of Alcoa, TN; grandchildren, Robert Isaac Ponder & (Kathryn) of Colonial Beach, VA., William David Ponder of Page, AZ., and Maria Renee Ponder of Maryville, TN. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Franklin Tomlison. Visitation will be held at Pulaski Funeral Home on Monday, February 22, 2021, from 11 AM to 1 PM. Funeral service will follow at 1 PM at Pulaski Funeral Home with Dr. Robert David Ponder and Dr. Robert F. Browning officiating. Burial will be in the Clay Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
