Jay G. Matlock

Mr. Jay G. Matlock, son of the late James Garfield and Ada Prichard Matlock was born Friday, April 5th, 1935 in Knox County, Kentucky, and he departed this life on Monday, April 11, 2022 having attained the age of 87 years.
He was united in marriage to Flora Fuson Matlock. She survives. Other survivors include; one son, Douglas J. Matlock of Nicholasville, Kentucky; two daughters, Rhonda (and Jeff) Story of Lexington, Kentucky and Amy Michelle (and Alan) Randall of North Vernon, Indiana; four grandchildren, Alyssa (Leland) Wright, Ryan (Leah) Story, Harrison Randall, and Ethan Randall; and four great grandchildren.
Other than his parents, he was also preceded in death by seven siblings.
Jay once owned his own window cleaning business. He was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church where he loved worshiping and being around his church family. He was a kind and gentle person who will be greatly missed by all who knew him and he leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn his passing.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 14, 2022 at the Immanuel Baptist Church. The family will receive friends afrom 11:00 a.m. Thursday until time for services.
