"Bud" Whitis

J.W. "Bud" Whitis passed away September 24, 2021 at Somerwoods Nursing Care. He was born May 4, 1946 in Acorn, KY to Robert Hairm Whitis and Ulene Whitaker Whitis Mounce. He was of the Baptist faith. He retired from Hawk's Plumbing after several years.

He leaves four children to cherish his memory, Kevin Whitis of Greencastle, IN, John (Susan) Whitis of Camby, IN, Tina Whitis of Pflugerville, TX and Jinger Bray of Martinsville, IN; Six grandchildren, Harley Whitis of Greencastle, IN, Hannah and Hudson Marberry of Pflugerville, TX, Brooke, Preston, Coltan and Arabella Whitis of Camby, IN and Jessica Bray of Martinsville, IN;  His companion and sweetheart, Maggie Price; Three brothers, Robert Whitis of Shopville, KY, Elmer Whitis of Pulaski County, Doug Whitis of Camby, IN.; Four sisters, Thelma Hawk of Acorn, KY, Barbara (Leotis) Whitaker of Forest Park, OH, Linda Whitis of Providence, KY and Bonnie (Pete) Watson of Mooresville, IN. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who thought the world of their Uncle Buddy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lonnie Whitis and Roger Whitis; one sister, Randie Sue Whitis and one granddaughter Hailey Whitis.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Pulaski Funeral Home. Showing for immediate family is at 10am, doors will open to friends and extended family at 11am. Funeral Services will begin at noon, with burial to follow at Whitis Cemetary in Acorn, Ky. Due to the Covid - 19 virus, it is recommended that all attending the funeral service wear a mask. The funeral will be live streamed on Pulaski Funeral Homes Facebook page beginning at 12:00 noon.
