Mr. James Roger "Shorty" Whitaker, son of the late William Lawrence and Faye Speaks Whitaker was born at Ano, KY on November 23, 1944 and he departed this life in Stanford, KY on January 4, 2018 having attained the age of 73 years. Survivors include; three sons, Roger Whitaker of Indiana, T.J. Whitaker and Timothy Whitaker both of Somerset, KY; two daughters, Brenda Moran and Linda Hawkins both of Indiana; two brothers, Jerry Whitaker of Somerset, KY and Danny Whitaker of Indiana; two sisters, Judy Sewell and Janice Ramboll both of Indiana; eight grandchildren, Dylan Whitaker, Brayton Taylor, Austin Taylor, Bailey Moran, Taylor Whitaker, Olivia Hawkins, Madison Hawkins, and R. J. Hawkins; and one great grandchild, Ethan Hawkins. Other than his parents, he is also preceded in death by; two brothers, Kenny and Larry Whitaker. Mr. Whitaker enjoyed fishing, and was a member of the Clifty Grove Baptist Church. Prior to retirement, he was a forklift operator for General Motors. James was a kind person who will be missed by all who knew him. He leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn his passing. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Chaney Cemetery. The family of Mr. James Roger "Shorty" Whitaker will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. Wednesday until time for services. Pulaski Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
