James "Buddy" Ping, 74, of Somerset, Kentucky passed away Monday, March 18, 2024 at his residence.
He was born in Pulaski Co., Kentucky on February 6, 1950; son of the late Andrew and Blanche (Meece) Ping. He was a retired Truck Driver. Buddy was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church #1, he loved the lord, fishing, and camping.
He is survived by his wife, Delorse (Hargis) Ping whom he married on December 19, 1987; his children, Terry Wayne Ping, Larry Christopher & (Kim) Ping, Kelley Jo Dalton, and Arwin Dwayne Dalton; grandchildren, Camron Ping, Kaleb Ping, Karli Ping, Alex Ping, Andrew Ping, Bryanna Strunk, KJ Banks, Mercedes Banks, Ashtyn Dalton; a great-grandchild, Jaxon Whitaker; a sister, Violet Franklin; and two brothers, Floyd & (PJ) Ping, and Sam & (Katie) Ping.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Blanche (Meece) Ping; a grandson, David Christopher Ping; two sisters, Elizabeth Phelps and Janice Ping; and two brothers, Jerry Ping, Robert Ping.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Kim Ping - Buddy's daughter-in-law, who has been a rock to him and Delorse during his illness; Dr. Sandy Braswell for her help and compassion throughout the years; and the staff of Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Thursday, March 21, 2024 at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Doug Eggers officiating.
Burial will be in Piney Grove Cemetery #1.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 PM Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home.
