Iva Stogsdill

Iva Jolene (Cline) Stogsdill, age 82, of Somerset, went peacefully to her heavenly home on March 10, at the University of Louisville Medical Center after a short illness.

She was born on March 1, 1943 in Science Hill, Kentucky to the late Ed and Annie Lee Hodge Cline.

Iva married the love of her life, Charles William Stogsdill, on March 16, 1962 in Science Hill, Kentucky by the Reverend Earnest Farris. To this marriage was born two children, Deborah Jolene (Tim) Wesley, and Anthony Charles "Tony" Stogsdill.

She was a member of the Somerset First Church of the Nazarene since she was a child, making her one of the longest service active members of the church. Throughout her 75+ years at the church she served as Sunday School Teacher, VBS Volunteer, Choir Member, Youth Worker, Board Member, and Bible Quiz Leader.

She retired from Walmart in 1999 after 22 years where she worked as Department Manager of the Fabric Department. She loved her customers and helping them create quilts, clothes, and many other projects.

Iva was preceded in death by her parents as well as brothers Darrel Cline, Ray Cline and Gerald Cline.

She is survived by her husband of almost 63 years, Charles Stogsdill; children, Deborah Wesley of Knoxville, TN and Tony Stogsdill of Nashville, TN. Grandchildren (to whom she was known as "Mimi") Jonathon Lawrence Wesley, Sarah Elizabeth (Ty) Myers, Victoria Noel Wesley, all of Knoxville, TN; Great Grandchildren Coraline Elizabeth Myers and Jolie Ruth Myers, Knoxville, TN; Sister Carolyn (Mike) Ballou of Bronston, KY; Brothers L.E. Cline and Larry Cline, of Somerset, Ky.

Visitation will be on Saturday from 10 am - 12 noon, with a funeral service immediately following at 12 noon.

Visitation and Funeral will be at Somerset First Church of the Nazarene, 120 Crawford Avenue. Burial will follow at Somerset Cemetery.

Jerry Brown, Gary Cline, Philip Godsey, Ty Myers, Jonathon Wesley, and Tim Wesley will serve as pallbearers.
