Iva Dean Eaton, age 82, of Bronston, Kentucky passed away peacefully, surrounded by many of her beloved family, Friday, April 27, 2018 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.
She was born New Years Day of 1936 in Somerset, Kentucky to the late Marcella Green. She was married to Luther Vernon Eaton for 58 years, from 1953 until he preceded her in death in 2011. She spent many years of her life as a homemaker, raising and loving her children, later worked outside of the home at Amon's Bakery, and also later as a caregiver at Oakwood in Somerset for several years. Iva made quite an impact on many people's lives throughout the years, and leaves behind many who have fond memories of her. She will be remembered by many as someone who was always naturally thinking of others rather than herself. She was a faithful member of Quinton Baptist Church in Bronston, Kentucky until she was unable to attend due to multiple illnesses later in her life. Even though the last 15 years of her life were filled with many adverse health conditions, she rarely if ever complained, with her thoughts being about the well-being of the ones that she loved. She is a very beautiful soul who will be deeply missed by those on this side of eternity.
She is survived by three children, Mike (and Sherry) Eaton, Patti Halcomb, and Mary Eaton all of Bronston, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Aaron & (Courtney) Eaton of Bronston, Kentucky; Amanda & (Brian) Clothier of Somerset, Luke & (Tasha) Halcomb of Somerset, Hannah Halcomb and Sarah Stogsdill of Somerset, and Maranda Strunk & (Adam Blevens) of Bronston; five great-grandchildren, Jacob Eaton, Andrew Eaton, Aiden Blevens, Faith Blevens, and Coleman Creech. She is also survived by a sister; Kathy & (Stephen) Collingwood; and Steve & (Jenny) Warner, both of Indiana, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A special thanks to her caregivers, which helped enable her to remain living at home over the last several years of her life, Sandy Price, Bernice Jones, Georgia Bowling, Joyce (Ping) Florence, as well as many others. Also a special thanks to Hospice of Lake Cumberland for their help during the last few days of her life.
A funeral service will be held Monday, April 30, 2018 at 11:00 am, with Bro. Jack Stallsworth officiating.
Burial will be in Eden Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 5 pm to 8 pm at Pulaski Funeral Home.
