Mr. Herbert Roy Snider, son of the late George Leroy and Zella Gaye Roland Snider was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania on August 31, 1944 and he departed this life in Somerset, Kentucky surrounded by his family on July 11, 2024 having attained the age of 79 years.
He was united in marriage to Cheryl Jewell, his college sweetheart, on October 21st, 1967 in Liberty, KY, she survives.
Other survivors include; two sons, Brian Snider (and Melissa) and Jeff Snider (and Cathy) ; one brother, William Eugene Snider; one sister, Carol Sue Snider; and four grandchildren, Elizabeth Anne Snider, Connor Avery Snider, Caleb Alexander Snider, and McKenzie Christine Corder.
Mr. Snider attended and graduated from Solanco High School of Quarryville, PA. He also proudly attended and graduated from Campbellsville College. He retired as a supervisor after serving many years as a Social worker for the Department For Manpower Services with the Commonwealth of Kentucky at the Somerset, Kentucky office.
Herbert was an avid Golfer, and was also an avid University of Kentucky Sports fan. He enjoyed woodworking, and customized many golf clubs for his friends.
Herbert was a member of the Somerset First Baptist Church. He enjoyed the fellowship with his family and friends and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He leaves a host of relatives, friends and church family to mourn his passing.
A funeral service for Mr. Snider will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 18th, 2024 at the Somerset First Baptist Church with Bro. David Pendley officiating. Burial will follow in the Somerset Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Somerset First Baptist Church from 11:00 a.m. Thursday until time for services.
