Hazel Abbott

November 10, 1925 — March 20, 2022

Hazel Wade Abbott, 96, was born in Russell County, Kentucky on November 10, 1925 to the late Hugh F. and Leona Luttrell Wade, the seventh of eight children.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by Ralph Odell Abbott, her husband of fifty years whom she married on July 9, 1962 in Ringgold, Georgia.

She was preceded by each of her siblings. Four Sisters: Amy (Beecher) Luttrell, Olive (Raymond) Massey. Ruby (Lowell) Childress and Hester Wade. Three Brothers; Gordon Byron (Frances) Wade, Edward (Elaine) Wade and Henry c. Wade who was a casualty of World War 2.

She was also preceded by her in- laws Willie and Vianna Abbott, Roy and Christine Abbott and Robert (Stella) Abbott and Myrtie Abbott Parsley.

She is survived by her only son Wade Abbott. a Sister-in-law Stella Abbott and fifteen nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

She enjoyed sewing, crochet, reading and working word search puzzles. She rarely missed an episode of Wheel of Fortune.

She spent many wonderful years working as a section supervisor for the Palm Beach Company in Somerset where she had many friends and special acquaintances.

Among the special people in her life were Faye Vaught and Dot Goff with whom she shared an apartment for many years. Special friends and neighbors Sandy Herron and Calvin Cassidy who are a true blessing.

Special blessings go to the caring angels of the Bluegrass Hospice Care who made her last days more comfortable and were there when needed.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Bluegrass Hospice Care or to St. Jude Children's Hospital.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at the Chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
A funeral Service will be held on Friday March 25, 2022 at 11:00 AM. at Pulaski Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Mill Springs National Cemetery.
