Mrs. Goldie Holt Duncan, daughter of the late James and Bertha Manning Holt, was born on May 23, 1924 in Somerset, Kentucky. She grew up as a farm girl and enjoyed playing childhood games with her sister and brothers. She professed her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age and began a lifetime of service to her Lord. Over her many years of Christian service, she was a Bible teacher of all ages, but especially loved teaching children.She was united in matrimony to Ralph Duncan on March 15, 1948. Together, they raised 6 children. Her beloved husband, Ralph, preceded her in death on March 7, 1995.Goldie Duncan was a former employee of Palm Beach Company and Lear Siegler in Somerset. She enjoyed writing poetry and was proud to have her poetry published. She also enjoyed quilting, embroidery and canning. She was a wonderful homemaker. Her life was filled with love and faithfulness and her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. She quietly departed this life on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Harlan Holt; a sister, Dovie Stogsdill; a daughter, Sue Maiden Toering; and a grandson, Greg Denney.Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by her surviving children: Darlene and Chuck Goff of Somerset; Larry Duncan of Conway, South Carolina; Pamela and Johnny Goff of Ferguson; Kathy Duncan of Somerset; Beverly and Mike Gover of Somerset; and a son-in-law, Larry Toering of Bronston.Her legacy will continue through her grandchildren: Yvonne and James Smith of Somerset; Tamara and Phil Richardson of Wapakoneta, Ohio; Chuckie Goff of Somerset; Tonja Coontz of Asheville, North Carolina; Scott and Katie Duncan of Ferguson; Josh Duncan and Krista Griffin of Ferguson; Amy and Nick Tomlinson of Somerset; Angela and Russell Roberts of Bronston; Sean and Reva Marcum of Somerset; and Jason and Gena Marcum of Waynesville, Missouri. Goldie also leaves behind 27 great-grandchildren and 28 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors who mourn her passing.Visitation for Goldie Duncan will take place on Friday, May 5, 2017 at the Heritage Hope Church of God from 5 to 8 p.m.Funeral services for Goldie Duncan will be held at 11:00 a.m.on Saturday, May 7, 2017 with Nick Tomlinson, Bro. Larry Perkins, Bro. Johnny Dunbar, and Bro. Jaime Couch officiating.Pulaski Funeral Home honored to be assisting the family of Goldie Duncan.
