George Tomlinson

George Tomlinson, 76, of Somerset passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023 at his residence.

He was born in Somerset, Kentucky on July 5, 1946; son of the late Andrew and Dorothy Tomlinson. He retired from the Kentucky State Police, and was one of the first members of the Honor Guard. On numerous occasions he received the Kentucky State Police Screaming Eagle Award. He was a US Army veteran where he obtained the rank of sergeant, and served as a medic of the Special Forces Green Beret. He loved woodworking, and shooting. He was a member of the Clay Hill Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby E. (Stigall) Tomlinson; his children, Marty Flynn & (Angie) and Andrea Tomlinson & (fiancé, Jed Keith); grandchildren, Mackenzie Epperson & (Justin), Hunter Flynn, Fisher Flynn, and Ashyr Beth Flynn; three siblings, Kenny Tomlinson & (Beverly), Eddie Tomlinson, and Ronnie Tomlinson & (Lynda); and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Dorothy Tomlinson; and a sister-in-law, Betty Jo Tomlinson; and a nephew, Jacob Colby Tomlinson.

 

Pallbearers will be: Hunter Flynn, Fisher Flynn, Marty Flynn, Andy Tomlinson, Jed Keith, and Justin Epperson.   

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Monday, May 22, 2023 at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Clyde Strunk officiating.

Burial will be in Clay Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Sunday, May 21, 2023 at Pulaski Funeral Home.
