Geneva Rice

Geneva Floyd Rice was born in Delmer Kentucky on June 30, 1925 to Elcus and Rosa Clifton Floyd. She passed away October 31, 2017. She Graduated from Nancy High School and married James Lee Rice at The Somerset First Methodist Church in May 1945. Geneva was a member of the Sardis Methodist Church.Geneva is survived by her son Douglas & (Beverly Stykes) Rice of Shepola, KY; daughters-in-law, Dianna Yanders Rice of Somerset; grandsons, Robert James & (Melanie Hayes) Rice; and daughters, Hannah and Emma of Richardsville, KY, Bryan Douglas (Sherri Godby) Rice; grandchildren, Lizzie and Grayson Lexington, KY, Shawn Patrick (Whitney Reynolds) Rice of Lexington KY; a sister Dorene (Logan) Tarter of Somerset; her in-laws, Helen Hines Rice of Indiana, Lois Richardson of Florida, Tony and Patricia Rice, Lowell and Shirley Rice, Lois Ann Rice, Jenny Rice all live in Ohio, Lucille Moody and Lennis and Doris Rice of Somerset. Geneva had many nieces and nephews, as well as both great and great-great nieces and nephews; and a very special friend Della Dalton. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lee Rice; parents; sisters, Zinnie Floyd (Paul)Todd and Glenna Floyd (Lowell) Tarter; a son James Lee Rice, Jr.; brothers-in-law, John O Rice, Ben Moody, Clifford Richardson, Thomas Rice, Wesley Rice, and Arthur Hugh Rice. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Chaplain Jeff McGrady COL (Ret.) officiating.Burial will be in Mill Springs National Cemetery.The family of Geneva Rice will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 8, 2017 until time for services.Pulaski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
