Gayle Wilson

Gayle Wilson, age 83, of Nancy, Kentucky departed this life on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at Hospice of Lake Cumberland, Jean Waddle Care Center. Gayle was born on September 26, 1937 in the Cain Store Community; to the late Hobert and Ida Mae Kissee Wilson. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Gayle married the love of his life, Loretta Hislope in Somerset and they celebrated 56 years of marriage this past October. They were a true testament of a union, always placing God first in their marriage. He was part owner of Jasper and Jasper mobile homes for many years. He was a lifelong member of Okalona Baptist Church. Gayle and Loretta spent many years mentoring the youth of their church. He loved cars, gospel singing, and was a choir director at church. He is survived by his wife, Loretta, sisters-in-law, Regina Wilson of Nancy, and Lou Wilson of Science Hill; and many nieces and nephews who dearly loved him very much. Along with his parents, Gayle was preceded in death by four brothers, Dwain, Gerald, Ermon, and Darwin Wilson; two brothers-in-law, Denver Hislope, and Darrell Hislope. Gayle was a kind, loving, and gentle soul. He will be greatly missed by his family, his church, his neighbors, and friends. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Monday, November 9, 2020 at Pulaski Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Nancy. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 PM Sunday, November 8, 2020 and after 11 AM Monday, November 9, until time for services.
