Gary Stephen Martin, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on August 29th, 2023 at his home in Science Hill, Kentucky. He was born on December 5th, 1958, and was 64 years old at the time of his passing.
Gary's journey began in Pendleton County, where he graduated from Pendleton County High School. He went on to play baseball at Eastern Kentucky University and had a deep love for sports. Gary was baptized at East Side Church of Christ, where he found solace and guidance in his faith.
Throughout his life, Gary was a passionate entrepreneur, always seeking new ventures and opportunities. He was a lifelong farmer, whose knowledge was instilled in him from his father. Gary had a special place in his heart for Kentucky sports and was an avid fan. He also found joy in fishing and horse racing.
However, Gary's greatest joy came from spending time with his friends and family. He cherished these moments dearly and embraced every opportunity to create lasting memories with his loved ones.
Gary is survived by his devoted wife of 39 years, Sherry Moore Martin, whom he married on June, 9th 1984. He also leaves behind his daughters, Ashley (Matthew) Cooper and Kelsey (Brandon) Davis. Gary was a proud grandfather to Greyden Davis, Luca Davis, Finn Cooper, and Daisy Cooper.
His loving mother, Estelle Martin, his sister Susan (Phillip, Ivy) Sousa, and brother David Martin also mourn his loss. Additionally, Gary is survived by numerous close friends and relatives who held a special place in his heart.
Gary was preceded in death by his father, Jack Martin, who will forever be remembered as a guiding light in his life.
A visitation will be held at Pulaski Funeral Home on Saturday, September 2nd, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with Bro Joe Altman. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m.
Gary will be laid to rest at Science Hill Cemetery, where he will find eternal peace.
May the memories of Gary Martin bring comfort to those who loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered in our hearts.
