Freda Keeney

July 9, 1925 — December 3, 2020

Freda Todd Keeney, 95 years of age, passed away peacefully at home on December 3, 2020. She was born on July 9, 1925 to Thomas Woodard Todd and Grace Rogers Todd of the Sardis community.

Freda Todd married Linus Keeney on May 30, 1947 and was welcomed into the home and hearts of her Father and Mother-in-Law, Coral Lee Keeney and Mabel Jane Richardson Keeney and family. They were married for over 70 years when Linus preceded her in death on August 16, 2017.

As a long-standing member of Oak Grove Baptist Church #1, she devoted her life to The Lord. Her faith was reflected in her favorite verse to recite “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). It remained a priority through her final days to provide spiritual guidance to ensure that she had done her job as a parent and grandparent.

She is survived by a son Jerry Keeney (Erica), daughter Glenda Keeney-Gibson (Ronald Gibson), grandson Scott Keeney (Jennifer), granddaughter Martina Keeney-Martinson (Monte Martinson), and great grandchildren Seth Keeney, Sarah Keeney, Cora Keeney, and Emma Keeney, and many loving nieces and nephews. Mrs. Lois Bumgardner is the surviving sibling of Freda’s family.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by siblings John Todd, Omer Todd, Paul Todd, Marie Todd Mason, Gladys Todd Hines, Thomas (Tommy) Woodard Todd II, Gladola Todd Driftmyer and Edgar Todd.

Given the participation restrictions in funeral services currently, the family would like to identify Honorary Pallbearers: Barbara Todd Brown, Brenda Mason Young, Cloyd (Jeff) Bumgardner, Connie Todd, Doris Todd Cundiff, Doug Driftmyer, Dwight Mason, Glen Hines, Jay Mason, Mark Driftmyer, Marshall Todd, Michael Todd, Russell Hines, Susie Hines Kalz, Tamara Bumgardner, and Thomas (T.W.) Woodard Todd III.

Our family was fortunate to have enjoyed our parent’s long lives. We extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to family and friends that showed their love, concern and caring for our parents over the years.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Mill Springs National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons Bible International.

Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family at this time.
