Francis "Red" Vanhook

Francis "Red" Vanhook, age 74, passed away on November 19, 2023, in Somerset, KY. He was born on December 25, 1948,  to the late Arlis and Wilma Vanhook in Valley Oak, KY.

Francis had a zest for life and enjoyed a variety of hobbies and interests. He found great joy in watching sports, particularly cheering on the UK basketball team. Sunday drives were a cherished pastime for Francis as he marveled at the beauty of the world around him. In addition to his passion for sports and nature, Francis had a unique collection of knives that showcased his appreciation for craftsmanship. He was also a dedicated employee, devoting over 40 years to Hinkle Contracting.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Vanhook; a son, Brian Vanhook; one brother, Marlin Vanhook; and one sister, Doris Stringer.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Arlis Vanhook, Jr. and Gerald Vanhook; and one sister, Joyce Vanhook Purvis.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Norman Harper and Bro. Daniel Harper officiating.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 21, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Pulaski Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery.
