Granville Forrest Hansford

Granville Forrest Hansford of Somerset, KY went home to be with the Lord on Sunday April 15, 2018 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland, Jean Waddle Care Center, Somerset KY. He was 83 years and 5 months old.

Forrest was born November 23, 1934 in the Mark Community of Pulaski County. He was the son of the late John L. and Fannie Lou Hansford.  He was united in marriage on April 23, 1960 to Delle Gosser Hansford who survives.

In addition to his wife he is also survived by one son Mark Shannon Hansford of Somerset. Other survivors include two sisters-in-law, Geneva Hansford and Elizabeth Hansford and his wife’s two sisters-in-law, Lacona Gosser and Joyce Gosser Crase. Additional survivors include three nephews; Larry Gene (and Beverly) Hansford, Scott and Travis Hansford as well as with several nieces and nephews from his wife’s family. Forrest was a loving husband to his wife Delle and loving father to their son Mark.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Rev. Clifford Eugene Hansford and James Gary Hansford.

Forrest made a profession of faith in Christ at Flat Lick Baptist Church on March 21, 1961 and was a member there until his death.  He loved the Lord, his church and served in many positions there including Music Leader for 31 years. He also served as trustee and Chairman of the building committee when the new addition was built.

Forrest was a Journeyman in Industrial Machine Repair and worked both in Somerset and Lexington, KY until his retirement from Standard Products in 1997.

Forrest loved to restore classic automobiles and enjoyed attending Somernites Cruise until his health prevented him from doing so.

The family of Granville Forrest Hansford will receive friends at Pulaski Funeral Home Friday April 20, 2018 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M.  A service will follow immediately at 1:00 P.M. at the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Gerald Ashley officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Hill Cemetery.
