Mr. Everett Lee Whitis, son of the late Menifee and Lilly Mae Harper Whitis, was born January 08, 1935 and he departed this life on December 6th, 2022 having attained the age of 87 years
He was united in marriage to Lillian Zoraida Tees Whitis, she survives. Other survivors include; two sons, David Lee Whitis, and Gary Wayne Whitis; five daughters, Terri Lynn Whitis Chaney and her husband Mark Bradley Chaney, Tammy Sue Whitis Thompson and her husband Jeff Thompson, Debra Whitis Hines and her husband David, Angela Whitis Weston and her husband Jim, and Dolores Zoraida Phoenix O'Donnell; two brothers, Wayne and Junior Whitis and three sisters, Evelene Phelps, Joann New and Betty Lou Meece; twelve grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Raymond, Emmitt, Ellis, Audie, and Bruce Whitis; and three sisters, Gertrude Sims, LeVon Poynter and Jessie Poynter.
Mr. Whitis was a long time car dealer and worked in and around auto sales for the most part of his life, he was a person who never met a stranger, and loved being around his family and friends, he enjoyed the outdoors and also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and he leaves a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.
A funeral service for Mr. Everett Lee Whitis will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, December 8th, 2022 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Tony Hall officiating.
The family of Mr. Everett Lee Whitis will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. Thursday until time for services.
