Eva Mae Decker, age 89, a resident of Somerset Nursing & Rehab, and formerly of Jabez, Kentucky passed away Saturday, December 19, 2020 from COVID-19.
She was the daughter of Lemar Shelby "Tan" Johnson and Dona Francis (Smith) Johnson. She married Marvin H. Decker on November 8, 1947.
She was born on July 9, 1931 in Russell Co., Kentucky. She was the daughter of Lemar Shelby "Tan" Johnson and Dona Francis (Smith) Johnson. She married Marvin H. Decker on November 9, 1947. She was a member of Morrow's Chapel Separate Baptist Church, where she was saved and baptized in the 1950's.
She is survived by her five sons, Ronnie & (Janice) Decker, and Keith Decker both of Somerset, Lester & (Claudia) Decker and Kenneth & (Mary) Decker both of Eubank, Donnie & (Susan) Decker of Shelbyville, IN; two daughters, Melinda & (David) Godbey of Somerset, and Katherine & (Robert) Harp of Martinsville, IN; two brothers, Lemar & (Mary) Johnson, and Garvis & (Shirley) Johnson both of Jabez; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin H. Decker; a son, Stanley Leslie Decker; a great-grandson, Caleb Ridner; her parents; four brothers, Marvin Ray, Squire Thomas, Garvil, and Mitchell Johnson; four sisters, Audria Norrick, Edna Gadberry, Betty Gordy, Reva Coomer; three brother-in-laws, Lewis Gadberry, Victor Norrick, and Herbert Coomer.
A private funeral service will be held.
Burial will be in Morrow's Chapel Cemetery, in Jabez, Kentucky.
