Elwood "Woody" Hunt was born on April 12, 1942 and passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at his home in the Blaze Valley Community of Pulaski County, KY.
Woody was known by many from his years driving a "chip truck" for Frito Lay until his retirement in 2006. He also drove for Rainbow bread as well as serving on the Pulaski County Schoolboard as chairman. He was a member of the Burnside Masonic Lodge #634 and a member of East Somerset Baptist Church. Above all else, he treasured time spent with his high school sweetheart, his devoted wife of 62 years, Georgia Lou Jasper-Hunt. He was an avid fisherman, cattle farmer, singer, antiques dealer and family man. He rarely met a stranger, charmed anyone who crossed his path with his contagious laugh and witty sense of humor. He always put his family first and will be truly missed by so many friends as well as those closest to him.
He was preceded in death by his sweet parents, Everett & Beulah Glover Hunt as well as two great grandchildren Hunter & Colton Meece and his special friend, Josh Godby.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia Lou Jasper Hunt, sisters Jean Farmer and Lerlean Hail, sons, Marty (Karen) Hunt and Troy (Brandy) Hunt, grandchildren, Ashley Hunt, Amanda (Tyler) Meece, Andrew (Amy) Hunt, Autumn (Mason) Helton, Chandler Taylor Hunt, Haylee Hunt, Austin Hunt and Jace Tillett Hunt and great grandchildren, Bailey, Levi, Sadie, Paisley & Lucas.
Visitation will be held at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home on Monday evening, August 14 from 6-8pm with a funeral service to be held the following day, Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at 11am at East Somerset Baptist Church with Bro. Darvie Fenison and Bro. Brad Gover officiating. Burial to follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens. Family will also receive friends after 10 am on Tuesday at the church.
